Resort Community Communications System Installation

Resort Community Communications System InstallationIn 2003, Cable Associates, Inc. undertook one of the most significant jobs in company history, a job that showcased our many talents and capabilities including Underground and Aerial construction, Design and Engineering, Fiber Splicing, Permitting and many others. Throughout the eight month duration of this complex project, Cable Associates designed and built a broadband system for a well-known resort community, Bay Creek Resort & Club. The Bay Creek community includes residential homes, a 124 slip marina, golf course and clubhouse as well as commercial shops and restaurants, located in the heart of Cape Charles, Virginia. The extensive system Cable Associates engineered encompasses the resort community as well as the city of Cape Charles. The system provides an 860 megahertz cable TV system, a high speed internet system and a voice over IP telephone system, utilizing fiber optic and coax cable. Cable Associates also constructed an Earth Station to provide the communication link to the brand new, state of the art Simulsat-5 communications satellite receiving dish, capable of receiving 42 satellites simultaneously; we also placed antennas on an existing tower to receive VHF and UHF signals for the cable TV system. During the design and construction of the project, Cable Associates obtained all necessary permits for the state and local governments and the majority of the underground work was done by directional drilling with very little open trenching necessary. After the major network construction was complete, Cable Associates returned to connect new subdivisions as they were built, and continues to do so, as well as standard maintenance and repairs when necessary.
